Pinnace Channel Aquaculture Fisheries Reserve – Southern Block Boundary Marker Buoys Established

Details:

Mariners are advised of the establishment of six yellow special mark buoys with light Characteristics Fl (4) Y 16s 3M, installed to mark the full extent of the Pinnace Channel Aquaculture Fisheries Reserve - Southern Block. Two additional buoys to mark the Southern and Eastern corners have been added to the four that were established in NTM 164(T)-2025.These two newly established buoys may not have synchronised lights.

The Six fibreglass buoys around the established area will form the southern block boundary of the Pinnace Channel Aquaculture Fisheries Reserve at the following locations:

Mariners are advised to navigate with caution within the vicinity of the reserve and of submerged aquaculture equipment within the zone ongoing.

Relevant Law:

The set aside area has been established as a fisheries reserve under the Fisheries Act 1995 while leases over the crown land within the reserve are issued under the Land Act 1958.
