Steampacket Quay – Floating Christmas Tree Barge Installation

Wednesday 19 November 2025

Details:

Mariners are advised of a temporary barge installation to support the Geelong

Floating Christmas Tree, to be moored at Steampacket Quay at approximate

location: 38°08.600’S, 144°21.750’E (WGS84), adjacent to Cunningham Pier.

Submerged cables and moorings supporting the barge will be marked with

buoys. The floating Christmas tree will be lit from dusk to dawn.

The weather contingency dates for the installation are Wednesday 19 November

and Thursday 20 November 2025. The installation will occur on these dates if the

weather is unsuitable on Tuesday 18 November 2024.

Mariners are advised to navigate with caution within the vicinity of

Steampacket Quay.
