Mariners are advised of works undertaken by Southern Program Alliance in the
vicinity of Mordialloc Creek Rail Bridge, at approximate location (WGS84):
38˚ 00.618’S, 145˚ 05.404’E. Public vessel through traffic will be subject to the
following impacts:
1. An exclusion zone will be established around the works area. During this time
public vessel access will be prohibited for up to three separate 4-hour periods
between Sunday 10 May and Wednesday 13 May 2026. The exclusion zone will
exist between approximately 50 metres downstream of the rail bridge and the
downstream edge of Mordialloc Creek Boat Ramp. The exclusion zone will be
monitored by on-water marshals and marked by lit buoys fitted with 1-2nm
marine lanterns and floating barrier buoy lines as shown in map 1 on the attachment. 2. A traffic light flag system will operate on the water, with traffic marshals in
attendance for up to eight 45-minute periods during the following times:
• Between Friday 1 May and Sunday 3 May 2026
• Between Sunday 10 May and Friday 15 May 2026
The traffic light flag system may also be used occasionally between Thursday 30
April and Sunday 31 May 2026, if required, for public safety.
On-water plant, equipment and potential hazards to navigation arising from the
works will be marked as per IALA standards.
