Aspendale to Mornington

Artificial Reef Installation Works

Details:

Mariners are advised of artificial reef installation works by Ozfish at artificial reef sites between Aspendale and Mornington between the dates noted above. The works will take place from a chartered vessel at existing artificial reef sites at the following approximate locations (WGS84): 1. 38° 02.168’S, 145° 04.616’E, Off Aspendale (Rhys Reef) 2. 38° 05.254’S, 145° 05.953’E, Off Carrum (Tedesco Reef) 3. 38° 08.483’S, 145° 05.479’E, Off Frankston (Yakka Reef) 4. 38° 12.176’S, 145° 03.208’E, 1.3nm to the northeast of Mornington harbour. When divers are operating, a white and blue flag (Alpha) will be displayed in accordance with the international standards. The reef modules are small and approximately 400mm in height from the seabed. On-water plant, equipment and potential hazards to navigation arising from the works will be marked as per IALA standards. Mariners are advised to navigate with caution within the vicinity of the works.
