Point Nepean to Point Lonsdale – RIP Swim Event

Date:

Saturday 18 July 2026 between 1030hrs and 1300hrs

Details:

Mariners are advised that a swim event will take place (weather dependant) from Point Nepean to Point Lonsdale, across Port Phillip Heads, between the times noted above and as indicated in the plan below.

A set aside exists from the boundary of Commercial Port waters to Point Lonsdale front beach bounded by the following approximate locations (WGS84): 1. 38° 17.5830'S, 144° 37.5500'E 2. 38° 17.1330'S, 144° 36.9170'E

Mariners are prohibited from entering the set aside area during the date and times nominated above and are advised to navigate with caution within the vicinity of the declared set aside area and keep clear of swimmers and event vessels.

Relevant Law:

The set aside area has been established under the Port Management (Local Ports) Regulations 2025. Entry is prohibited to all persons excluding the event officials and Parks Victoria officers.
