Frankston Pier – Frankston Waterfront Festival – Flare Demonstrations and Fireworks Display

Saturday 15 February 2020, between 1830hrs and 2230hrs.

Details:

Mariners are advised of flare demonstrations and a fireworks display as part of the Frankston Waterfront Festival between the times nominated above.
The Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Association will perform flare demonstrations on the beach, to the north of Frankston Pier at approximate location 38°08.790'S, 145°06.960'E (WGS84).
24 hand held flares, and 24 hand held orange smoke signals will be discharged.
The fireworks display will take place from the end of Frankston Pier at approximate location 38°08.740'S, 145°06.790'E (WGS84).
A 360° set aside area extends to a 150m radius from the end of Frankston Pier and includes the Pier itself. This set aside area is established to ensure public safety in the local port as per WorkSafe requirements relating to safe fallout areas for firework displays.
Mariners are prohibited from entering the set aside area during the date and times nominated above and are advised to navigate with caution within the vicinity of the event.

Relevant Law:

The set aside area has been established under Regulation 11(1) of the Port Management (Local Ports) Regulations 2015. Entry is prohibited to all persons excluding the event officials and Parks Victoria officers.
