South Melbourne Beach – Life Saving Victoria Events

Date:

Saturday 29 February and Sunday 1 March 2020 between 0630hrs and 1800hrs

Details:

Mariners are advised of swim, board, ski paddle and surf boat events off South Melbourne Beach during the times nominated above.

The competition area is bounded by the following approximate locations (WGS84):

1. 37,50.900S, 144,56.300E 3. 37,50.785S, 144,56.385E

2. 37,50.950S, 144,56.785E 4. 37,51.170S, 144,56.685E

A set aside will exist around the competition area which will be delineated by marker buoys, and patrolled by event marshals.

Mariners are advised to navigate with caution within the vicinity of the event and observe signage and directions from event officials.

Relevant Law:

The set aside area has been established under the Port Management (Local Ports) Regulations 2015. Entry is prohibited to all persons excluding the event officials and Parks Victoria officers.
