Whalers Cove West Tidal Gate Closure and Works

Details:

Mariners are advised that the western tidal gate at Whalers Cove, Patterson River at approximate location 38°04.205’S, 145°08.035’E is closed for maintenance. The Whalers Cove eastern gate remains open for navigation. The works will take place within a set aside area marked by buoys and will be carried out by divers, dive support vessels and work vessels. When divers are operating, a white and blue flag (Alpha) will be displayed in accordance with international standards. On-water plant, equipment and potential hazards to navigation arising from the works will be marked as per IALA standards.

Mariners are advised to follow signage in relation to traffic management and navigate with caution within the vicinity of the works and declared set aside area.

Relevant Law:

The set aside has been established under Regulation 11(1)(2) of the Port Management (Local Ports) Regulation 2015. Entry is prohibited to all persons excluding the work contractors and Parks Victoria Officers.
