Wises Reef – South Cardinal Buoy Installed and Piles Removed

Details:

Mariners are advised of the installation of a South Cardinal mark buoy, lit with characteristics VQ(6) + LFL 10s, off Altona at approximate location 37°52.406’S, 144°50.702’E (WGS84).

The buoy replaces two redundant unlit timber piles at approximate locations (WGS84): 37°52.328’S, 144°50.697’E and 37°52.282’S, 144°50.635’E which have now been removed.

Mariners are advised to navigate with caution within the vicinity of the buoy.
