Rail Bridge Maintenance Works and Temporary Lane Closure

Monday 2 August 2021 until further notice

Details:

Mariners are advised of maintenance works under the Patterson River Rail Bridge, at approximate location 38° 04.355’S, 145° 07.315’E (WGS 84). A Portion of the transit lane will be temporarily closed due to a reduced air draft. An exclusion zone has been established, and will be marked by buoy lines, buoys, and on water signage. The exclusion zone will start on the southern side of the river and will be moved to the northern side as the works progress. Transit under the bridge will remain available throughout the works, which are planned to be complete in early September.
Mariners are advised to follow signage in relation to traffic management and navigate with caution within the vicinity of the works and declared exclusion zone.

Relevant Law:

The exclusion zone has been established under section 211(1)(b) of the Marine Safety Act 2010. Navigation of vessels in the works area is prohibited, excluding vessels involved directly in the works and Parks Victoria vessels.
