Middle Brighton Pier - Great Australia Day Swim

Wednesday 26 January 2022 between 09:00hrs and 13:00hrs

Details:

Mariners are advised of a swimming event in the vicinity of Middle Brighton Pier and Brighton Harbour, during the times nominated above.
 
A set aside will exist around the competition area including the pier and harbour, and extends from the shore to the following approximate locations (WGS84):

1.  37°54.281’S, 144°58.650’E                      2.  37°54.553’S, 144°58.652’E
 
The competition area will be delineated by marker buoys and patrolled by event marshals. 

Mariners are prohibited from entering the set aside area during the date and times nominated above and are advised to navigate with caution in the vicinity of the declared set aside area as swimmers will be within the harbour and outside of the harbour.

Relevant Law:

The set aside has been established under Regulation 11(1)(2) of the Port Management (Local Ports) Regulations 2015 Entry is prohibited to all persons excluding the event participants and Parks Victoria officers.
