Dredging for Beach Renourishment Works

Details:

Mariners are advised of dredging works for beach renourishment undertaken by the Department of Environment, Land Water and Planning (DELWP) at Blairgowrie, at approximate location (WGS84): 38˚21.863’S, 144˚48.537’E.
Dredging works will be carried out by a cutter suction dredge operating in an area approximately offshore from Whitecliffs Beach. Dredged material will be transported via pipeline and deposited on Whitecliffs Beach.
The Pipeline, On-water plant, equipment, and potential hazards to navigation arising from the works will be marked as per IALA standards.
Once complete the works will proceed to other planned sites at Tootgarook, for which further Notices will be issued.
Mariners are advised to navigate with caution within the vicinity of the works.
