Patterson River Rail Bridge – Rectification Works and Northern Exclusion Zone

Tuesday 26 April until further notice

Details:

Mariners are advised of works to the Rail Bridge over Patterson River from the date nominated above.  These works will require the suspension of scaffold from below the bridge, and establishment of an exclusion zone below the work area.
                                              
The exclusion zone will extend along the north bank, from 70m upstream to 70m downstream of the Rail Bridge between the following approximate locations (WGS84) and includes the Port (northern) transit lane beneath the bridge.  The Starboard (southern) transit lane will remain open for all vessel traffic.

The above exclusion zone will be activated and marked to IALA standards by water communication buoys.  
Mariners are advised to navigate with caution within the vicinity of the Patterson River Rail Bridge and obey all speed limits and signage. 

Relevant Law:

The exclusion zone has been established under section 211(1) (b) of the Marine Safety Act 2010. Vessels are prohibited from entering the exclusion zone, excluding vessels involved directly in the works and Parks Victoria vessels.
