The following Notice to Mariners is published for general information.

Eastern Beach – Ironman Swim Event

Date:

Friday 24 March 2023 until 1600hrs on Sunday 26 March 2023

Details:

Mariners are advised of a triathlon swim event at Eastern Beach, Geelong during the times nominated above. Mobilisation and set up will begin on Friday 24 March with the main events occurring on Saturday 25 March 2023 and Sunday 26 March 2023.

A set aside will exist around the competition area and races will occur off the beach in a triangular area bounded by the following approximate locations (WGS84):

1. 38° 08.790’S, 144° 22.190’E 2. 38° 08.370’S, 144° 22.275’E

3. 38° 08.710’S, 144° 22.475’E

Mariners are prohibited from entering the set aside area during the date and times nominated above and are advised to navigate with caution within the vicinity of the declared set aside area where swimmers will be, within the harbour and outside of the harbour.

Relevant Law:

The set aside has been established under Regulation 11(1)(2) of the Port Management (Local Ports) Regulations 2015. Entry is prohibited to all persons excluding the event participants and Parks Victoria officers.
