RIP Swim Event

Date:

8 July 2023 from 1100 hrs to 1400 hrs

Details:

Mariners are advised that a swim event will take place (weather dependant) between Point Nepean and Point Lonsdale, through Port Phillip Heads on 8 July 2023 from 1145 hrs to 1330 hrs.
The swim event will consist of 14 groups of swimmers.

The swimmers will be supported by event vessels, who will be monitoring VHF Channels 71, 72 and 12.

The following event vessels will be in attendance:
 1. Amour de la Mer (Catamaran) 
 2. 5 x RHIBs 
 3. 14 x kayaks
Recreational vessels are to navigate with caution when transiting the Fairway Through Port Phillip Heads during the course of the swim event, keeping well clear of swimmers and event vessels. 
Should the swim event on 8 July 2023 be cancelled due to weather conditions, the swim event will be rescheduled to take place on 9 July 2023.
Mariners will be advised by an updated Notice to Mariners. Mariners are advised to navigate with caution during the swim event and are reminded to comply with the requirements of the Vessel Operating and Zoning Rules for Victorian Waters.
