Tankerton Jetty Access Channel - Maintenance Dredging

Details:

Mariners are advised of maintenance dredging works within the access channel to Tankerton Jetty, position 38˚22.979’S, 145˚16.119’E (WGS84). The access channel will remain open during these works.

Dredging works will be carried out by a cutter suction dredge. Dredged material will be transported via floating pipeline and deposited in deep water 200m south of the access channel.

The pipeline is marked by white buoys and may be submerged, partially submerged, or floating depending on local conditions and works being undertaken.
The disposal site is marked by a small pontoon.

On-water plant, equipment and potential hazards to navigation arising from the works will be marked as per IALA standards.

The dredge is restricted in its ability to manoeuvre. Mariners are advised to navigate with caution in the vicinity of the dredge, and in the area between the access channel and the disposal point.
