Portsea Pier –Upgrade Works and Temporary Closures

11 June 2024 until further notice

Details:

Mariners are advised of upgrade works to Portsea Pier at approximate location 38°19'03.9"S 144°42'48.3"E (WGS84). The entire pier will be closed for the duration of the works.

 A set-aside area has been established 20 metres around the pier and will be defined by on-site signage. Entry is prohibited except for Parks Victoria officers and individuals involved in the works. 

The works will involve piling undertaken with barges and work boats. On-water plant, equipment and potential hazards to navigation arising from the works will be marked as per IALA standards.

The works are planned to be completed by 30 June 2024.  

Mariners are prohibited from entering the set-aside area during the date and times nominated above and are advised to navigate with caution within the vicinity of the works. 

Relevant Law:

The set aside has been established under Regulation 11 of the Port Management (Local Ports) Regulations 2015. Entry is prohibited to all persons excluding the individuals involved in the works and Parks Victoria officers.
