Mariners are advised of works as part of the St Kilda
Pier Redevelopment project, at approximate location (WGS84); 37°51.900’S, 144°57.980’E.
As shown on the map below, the works area is divided
into four set aside zones, which will be delineated by exclusion buoys and
signage when active.
Zone A: (yellow) Waters seaward of the St Kilda
harbour breakwater within a 150 m radius St Kilda heritage kiosk building,
following 100 m off the southern length of the new St Kilda Pier to a point the
pier meets the shoreline, then extending north to the seabed below the old St
Kilda Pier scheduled for demolition.
Zone B: (green) The waters
extending 100 m north from the St Kilda heritage kiosk building and bound by
the marina access arm, to a point 150 m northwest to the breakwater.
Zone C: (pink) The waters
extending 100 m north of the old St Kilda Pier head scheduled for demolition,
to the easternmost marina arm, then to the low landing on the old pier.
Zone D: (pink) The waters
approximately 100 m north from the seabed below the old St Kilda Pier, to the
easternmost marina arm, and to the seawall bounded by coordinates: 37° 51.87′
S, 144° 57.95′ E 37° 51.83′ S, 144° 57.94′ E 37° 51.82′ S, 144° 57.98′ E 37°
51.80′ S, 144° 58.23′ E 37° 51.85′ S, 144° 58.23′ E.
The works will be undertaken from barges and work
boats and will involve piling and general construction activities.
Mariners are advised not to enter
the Set Aside works area, and to navigate with caution within the vicinity of
the works.
