Mud Island to Portarlington - Underwater Operations AUV Trial

Date:

11 February until 14 March 2024, Weather dependant.

Details:

Mariners are advised of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) trial operations between Mud Island and Portarlington during the dates noted above.

The trials will follow two courses, bound by the following approximate positions (WGS84) and follow the paths depicted in the attached maps:

Course 1:

1. 38°10.155'S, 144°45.455'E

2. 38°9.158'S, 144°47.175'E

3. 38°11.435'S, 144°49.152'E

4. 38°12.325'S, 144°47.463'E

Course 2:

1. 38°19.6'S, 144°53.625'E

2. 38°14.356'S, 144°50.578'E

3. 38°8.237'S, 144°45.818'E

4. 38°7.008'S, 144°42.327'E

5. 38°6.278'S, 144°40.654'E

6. 38°6.305'S, 144°38.376'E

7. 38°6.287'S, 144°37.269'E

8. 38°7.146'S, 144°35.25'E

9. 38°8.568'S, 144°32.301'E

10. 38°8.478'S, 144°29.607'E

The trial will involve multiple dives of the AUV, which will be accompanied by a support vessel. The AUV will display dive flag Alpha from its antenna above the waterline.

Mariners are advised to navigate with caution in the vicinity of the trial.
