Werribee River Entrance – Maintenance Dredging

Details:

Mariners are advised of maintenance dredging operations at the Werribee River entrance, at approximate location: 37°58.400’S, 144°41.210’E (WGS84). Works will include the removal of sand from around Werribee South Jetty which will be closed during this time. Boat ramp facilities should be unaffected. Dredging works will be carried out by a cutter suction dredge and excavator. Dredged material will be deposited by pipeline on the beach, northeast of the river entrance. On-water plant, equipment and potential hazards to navigation arising from the works will be marked as per IALA standards. Mariners are advised to allow the dredge vessel to manoeuvre to a safe location when approaching, and to only pass on the side with a double black diamond day shape on the mast.
