Mordialloc Creek Closure for Rail Bridge Works

Friday 18 July 2025 2300hrs to Saturday 19 July 2025 1700hrs

Details:

Mariners are advised that Mordialloc Creek will be temporarily closed for public 
safety for a maximum of 5 hours between the times and dates noted above, to 
facilitate works undertaken by Southern Program Alliance in the vicinity of the rail 
bridge at approximate location (WGS84): 38˚00.618’S, 145˚05.404’E.
An exclusion zone will be established around the works area with no public vessel 
through traffic permitted. The exclusion zone will exist between approximately 50 
metres downstream of the rail bridge and the downstream edge of Mordialloc 
Creek Boat Ramp, as shown in figure 1 below.
The exclusion zone will be marked by lit water communication buoys fitted with 
1–2 nm marine lanterns and floating barrier buoy lines.
On-water plant, equipment and potential hazards to navigation arising from the 
works will be marked as per IALA standards.

Mariners are advised of the closure and to navigate with caution in the vicinity of 
Mordialloc Creek. 

Relevant Law:

The exclusion zone has been established under Section 211 of the Marine Safety Act 2010. Entry is prohibited to all persons and vessels excluding individuals involved in the works and Parks Victoria officers
