Werribee River Entrance – Channel Width Restored

Details:

Mariners are advised that channel width has been restored at the entrance to Werribee River in the vicinity of Werribee South Jetty, at approximate location 37°58.393’S, 144°41.206’E (WGS84). Dredging works are continuing along the navigation channel using a cutter suction dredge. Dredged material is being deposited on the beach, northeast of the River entrance.
On-water plant, equipment and potential hazards to navigation arising from the works will be marked as per IALA standards.
Mariners are advised to allow the dredge vessel to manoeuvre to a safe location when approaching, and to only pass on the side with a double black diamond day shape on the mast.
