East Cardinal Beacon Works

Details:

Mariners are advised of works to East Cardinal Beacon ‘Point Cook’ with 
characteristics Q(3)W 10s7m3M, with charted position east of Point Cook Marine 
Sanctuary at approximate location 37°55.584’S, 144°48.913’E (WGS84). 
The works will involve the removal of the existing beacon and its reinstatement 
approximately 200m southeast of its existing location at: 37°55.646’S, 144°48.994’E 
(WGS84). 
To facilitate the works, a barge will be used to remove the existing beacon topside
and navigation light. The remaining pile stub will be marked to IALA standards with 
a yellow flashing light with characteristics Fl 2.5s until it is removed.
If weather is suitable, the barge will remain on site for the duration of the works 
and will be lit to IALA standards. 
Mariners are advised of the missing light while works are completed and to 
navigate with caution in the vicinity of the works
