The project

This project was delivered on Taungurung Country.

With great facilities in a delightful bush setting close to Melbourne, The Gums campground is a popular base for relaxing and exploring the northern section of Kinglake National Park. Nestled in a tranquil eucalypt forest next to a meandering mountain stream, it is ideal for families and small groups.

The campground has been upgraded to make it even more enjoyable. The upgrades included:

  • Re-arrangement of camp sites
  • New vegetation to delineate campsites from each other
  • Resurfacing the access road
  • New firepits
  • Replacement of damaged boardwalks in Blackfish Way.

Project funding

This project was funded with $710,662 from Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action.
