Parks Victoria offers a range of stunning natural landscapes to hold your special day. 

Who should submit a Wedding Ceremony and Wedding Photography / Filming application?

Anyone who wants to hold their wedding ceremony and/or have their wedding photography/filming on Parks Victoria estate will need to apply for a permit.


Permit lead time

All applications, including all documentation, are required to be submitted a minimum of 8 weeks in advance of your proposed wedding date.


How to apply for a wedding or wedding photography / filming permit

For wedding ceremonies and/or wedding filming and photography at Dandenong Ranges Gardens, Point Nepean National Park or Werribee Park, please refer to the relevant information for each specific location.

If you would like to have your wedding ceremony, photography or filming at any other location within the Parks Victoria managed estate, please see the relevant information for other locations.

    Permit fees for holding your wedding on Parks Victoria estate vary depending on several factors.

    How to submit a Parks Victoria Wedding Ceremony, Filming & Photography permit application

    1. Complete the Wedding Ceremony and Wedding Filming and Photography online permit application form.
    2. Gather supporting documents (details in application form).
    3. Submit your online application form

    Upon receipt of your event application, you will receive an email regarding your request and a reference number.

    Please note:

    • Submitting an application does not guarantee approval
    • If your wedding ceremony will have over 100 people (including bridal party) in attendance, you will be required to supply a Certificate of Currency for $20 million public liability insurance.
    • Filming or Photography applications that include a drone require the below additional documents to be provided with your application:
      • CASA Certified Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) – per pilot
        Refer to CASA for further information on obtaining your Remote Pilot Licence (RePL)
      • Remotely Piloted Aircraft Operator's Certificate (ReOC) - per pilot
        Refer to CASA for further information on obtaining your Remotely piloted aircraft operator's certificate (ReOC)
      • Certificate of Currency (CoC)
        Drone operator’s Certificate of Currency for $20M public liability insurance including aviation coverage. The provision of the Drone Operator’s Certificate of Currency is in addition to the Certificate of Currency provided by the Permittee for the filming, as requested in the accompanying Filming and Photography OR Event Permit application form. The company listed on the ReOC (operator’s certificate) should be the same as the ‘insured’ company listed on the CoC. The CoC should also list the type/model of drone that will be operated.
      • Aircraft Operations Map outlining:
        • Take-off and landing locations
        • Proposed flight path
        • Proposed exclusion zone
        • Proposed location of spotters and demarcation signage
      • Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
        Document that outlines potential risks and how those risks will be controlled during the shoot.
