Mobile trading permit

Calling culinary creators, mobile microbusinesses, street eats and coffee aficionados. 

Recognising that mobile trading operations can play a role in the provision of accessible services for visitors, park users and the local community, Parks Victoria is offering the ability to obtain a permit at mobile trading sites where seasonal services to park visitors will be of benefit. 

To become licensed for mobile trading operations on Parks Victoria managed public land, the local Authorities planning scheme should be zoned appropriately, such as for public park and recreation purposes. Your business must be registered, including with Streatrader and all goods sold must directly relate to the needs of park visitors and not be located within 200m* of an existing food and beverage retailer.

• Available mobile trading locations for 2020 include: Point Nepean Quarantine Station, Lerderderg State Park, Maroondah Reservoir Park, Silvan Reservoir Park, Westerfolds Park, Yan Yean Reservoir Park.
• The following locations have been allocated for the 2020 calendar year: Mt St Gwinear in Baw Baw National Park, Olinda Golf Course, Redwood Forest, Westgate Park, Mt Donna Buang in Yarra Ranges National Park.

Parks Victoria competitively allocates mobile trading sites. Each application is assessed against criteria including; demonstrated alignment to the Victorian Governments Healthy Choices guidelines, environmental responsibility, degree to which the offer enhances the visitor experience and business management, amongst others.

Note: event organisers whose festivals include mobile traders do not need to apply through this process and can apply as a part of an event permit.
