Whilst dogs are not permitted in protected national parks, there are many regional parks that do allow camping with your four-legged companion.

    Banksia Bluff Campground, Cape Conran Coastal Park

    Banksia Bluff Campground is a tranquil wooded campground where the peace is only broken by the dawn chorus and waves crashing. Set up camp among gum and banksia woodland and relax by the campfire. Camp with your dog on selected sites.


    Paradise Beach Campground, Gippsland Lakes Coastal Park

    The Paradise Beach Campground is separated from the beach by a stretch of fenced vegetation. There is access to the beach from the camping area. Use this access points to reduce the damage to the sensitive coastal vegetation.


    Corringle Foreshore Campground, Marlo Coastal Reserve

    Corringle Foreshore Campground is nestled between Corringle Slips on the Lower Snowy River estuary and Bass Strait. Pitch a tent in banksia woodlands close to the beach. Dog (on a lead) are welcome in this perfect fishing and boating location.


    Lerderderg State Park

    The Lerderderg River in Lerderderg State Park has carved a deep and picturesque gorge through this rugged park located within easy reach of Melbourne, Bacchus Marsh and Ballarat. Picnic at Shaws Lake or O'Briens Crossing, follow an old water race and hike part of the Great Dividing Trail, or simply stroll along the river from Mackenzies Flat.

    Jerusalem Creek Campground, Lake Eildon National Park

    The eight separate camping areas offer basic dog-friendly camping nestled on the southern tip of the Jerusalem Block at Jerusalem Creek Campground — it's the perfect base to explore all Lake Eildon National Park has to offer.


    Great Otway National Park

    There are 2 campgrounds within the Great Otway National Park that cater for dogs on-lead.


    • Johanna Beach Campground

    Nestled between coastal sand dunes, a lush, grassy hinterland and a prime surf beach, the dog-on-lead friendly Johanna Beach Campground has everything you need for an unforgettable seaside camping experience. Take in the salty ocean vistas, go surfing, fishing or hike a section of the Great Ocean Walk.


    • Lake Elizabeth Campground

    Lake Elizabeth Campground is a dogs-on-lead camping area sheltered by tall eucalypt trees and nestled beside the Barwon River.
