Community engagement

Community engagement is an important part of how we manage parks. We work with government agencies, stakeholders, and the community when we make changes to parks, create new visitor experiences, or update management plans and strategies.

Engaging with the community helps us understand different views and ideas. It also gives us a chance to share both the opportunities and challenges involved in managing parks and waterways.

We aim to start engagement early and offer real opportunities for people to influence decisions on things that can change.

Your input on the places and projects that matter to you helps us make better decisions. It strengthens our plans and ensures our parks are managed in ways that reflect community needs and values.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Look out for new consultations on Engage Victoria, the Victorian Government’s online consultation platform.
  • Sign up for our bi-monthly newsletter to hear about engagement opportunities and ways you can get involved.
  • Contact our team directly at engage@parks.vic.gov.au.

Our parks sit within an enduring cultural landscape. Visit our Managing Country Together page to learn how we work in partnership with Traditional Owners across Victoria.
