Lead design consultant appointed for Clyde and Werribee Township Regional Parks

Friday 17 May, 2024

Communities in the growing areas of Wyndham Vale, Tarneit and Clyde are one step closer to enjoying more green spaces, with a lead design consultant appointed for Werribee Township and Clyde Regional Parks.

The two new parks are being created as part of the Victorian Government’s $315 million Suburban Parks Program, which will create more than 6,500 hectares of new and upgraded parks and trails across greater Melbourne.

Design consultant AECOM in partnership with McGregor Coxall has been selected to lead the development of master plans for both Werribee Township and Clyde Regional Parks following a competitive tender process.

Each master plan will build on the existing Strategic Directions Plans developed through a public engagement process in 2022. The Strategic Directions Plans outline the aspirations and general uses for the parks based on community feedback. The Master Plans will refine and map what is planned for each park in more detail.

When complete, each park will create new opportunities and experiences for urban communities to get active, spend time with friends and family, and connect to our beautiful parks and waterways.

Clyde Regional Park will be co-located with the future Clyde Park Sports Precinct and Melbourne Water drainage basin, across 120 hectares in Clyde, on Bunurong Country.

Werribee Township Regional Park will be created in Wyndham Vale and Tarneit on Wadawurrung Country and Bunurong Country, at the northern boundary of the existing Presidents Park.

Demolition and clean up works started on site in late 2023. The next stage of works to clean up and make the areas safe is expected to start shortly.
