Accessibility
Visiting a park can be more of a challenge for people with disabilities, however, in Victoria there are a wide range of facilities to help people of all abilities enjoy our wonderful parks around the state. Parks Victoria provides a range of a equipment, including all-terrain and beach wheelchairs, facilities, accommodation and accessibility information and programs to help you plan and enjoy your visit to Victoria's parks.
Assistance dogs are welcome in Parks Victoria parks and reserves. Entry requirements apply for parks and reserves that are usually dog prohibited, such as national parks.

Maintenance dredging at Portarlington Harbour
Maintenance dredging will take place in Portarlington Harbour to remove a build-up of sand near the low landing and the passenger ferry berth.Maintenance dredging:• Is required to ensure safe navigation for commercial and recreational vessels.• Provides sand for erosion control and renourishment of adjacent beaches.Freshly dredged sand contains organic material, such as seaweed, giving it a dark colour and mild odour. Over time the sand will naturally return to a normal colour and lose any odour.These works may take 1-2 weeks, weather permitting.Please keep away from the sand disposal site and any machinery operating in the area.Swimmers are advised to use the west end of the beach near Sproat Street.Mariners should navigate with caution near the dredge and lookout for floating, partially submerged, and submerged pipelines.A notice to mariners is in force for these works.Attachments: 564(T)-25 Portarlington - Portarlington Harbour Dredging Works (164KB)
