Maribyrnong River Trail partial closure

Due to flood damage, the Maribyrnong River Trail is closed from ‘Carpark C’ in Brimbank Park to Canning Street, Avondale Heights. For safety reasons there is no access between these points. 

The trail is expected to re-open in Spring 2024, subject to on-ground and environmental conditions. Repair works are being delivered in partnership with Emergency Recovery Victoria.

Temporary closure of Visitor Centre Playscape asset

The eagles nest playscape asset at the visitor centre brimbank park will be temporary closed due to ongoing maintenance from the 04/06/2024. 

Brimbank Park Carpark B Toilet Closure

Due to vandalism of the internal structure and theft of fittings this Toilet Block Carpark B- male, female and all abilities cubicles is closed until remediation can be completed.The toilet block servicing picnic area A remains open at this time.

Brimbank Park Carpark C Toilet Closure

Burndap Lake public landing

Locals and visitors will benefit from easier access to the river through this project and the Maribyrnong River Boat Ramp project, which together will help revitalise this waterside precinct. The public floating pontoon facility, to be located in place of the former privately managed Edgewater Marina, will be able to accommodate multiple short-term berths and feature a lower-level platform suitable for paddle craft. Find out more about the project.

As Waterway Manager under the Marine Safety Act 2010 Parks Victoria wishes to advise the following waterway closures and activities on the Yarra River, Maribyrnong River and Victoria Harbour.
