Middle Brighton Pier is a great space for visitors to explore. Visitors can walk along the breakwater, with unique views of Port Phillip Bay. It is a popular base for a range of recreation, including yachting, fishing and swimming.

Unique to Brighton is the Icebergers swimming club who swim in the bay year round.

The area surrounding the pier is 5 knots.

The Pier is also located along the Bay Trail, one of Melbourne’s most well-used walking and cycling trails.
Jumping and diving off the pier and other structures is prohibited for public safety. There are shallow areas and often unexpected submerged objects
Ensure dogs are kept on lead at all times and clean up after your dog.

Middle Brighton Pier Partially Closed

For public safety, Middle Brighton Pier and Breakwater are closed due to risk of structural failure. Closure of the pier extends from the first low landing to the breakwater. The first low landing, located 150m along the pier, is available for short term berthing. When using the open section of the pier, visitors are advised to keep clear of small areas of barricaded, potentially unsafe concrete decking. Vehicles are prohibited on the entire length of the pier.
