O'Briens Crossing Day Visitor Area (Lerderderg River Heritage River, Lerderderg State Park)

Accessed from O’Briens Rd, in the northern end of the park, O’Briens Crossing Day Visitor Area is nestled by the banks of the Lerderderg River beneath the shelter of tall gum trees. Picnic facilities including tables and toilets will help you enjoy a picnic before setting out on one of the adjacent walks, where you can explore the rugged terrain of Lerderderg Gorge. Dogs are welcome at O’Briens Crossing, although must be on-lead.

The O’Briens Crossing - Tunnel Walk meanders through the steep Lerderderg Valley. Dogs are welcome, although must be on-lead.

The more adventurous East Walk – Cowans Track Loop Walk, follows the alongside the Lerderderg River before looping back through rugged bushland. Dogs are not permitted on East Walk.

Camping is available at the nearby Lerderderg Gorge campground.
Prospecting, fossicking, and digging is prohibited. Penalties apply.
Rubbish bins are not provided so please take all rubbish home with you.
