Bird Track and Kennett-Wye Jeep Track Closed Due to Landslip

Bird Track and Kennett-Wye Jeep Track are closed for public safety due to a landslip undermining part of the track. Repairs are planned and due to be completed in early 2024. 

Garvey Track Closed due to road repairs

Garvey Track is closed from the Sheoak Picnic Ground to Sharps Track to allow for repairs to stabilise and road works to be undertaken.

Sharps Campground permanently closed

Permanently closed due to environmental and safety risks. 

Delayneys Track Closed

Delayneys Track is closed until further notice.

Grey River Road Closed 3 March - 24 March

There will be a full closure of Grey River Road between Kennett River and Benwerrin Mount Sabine Rd.
Dates: 4/3/2024 – 22/3/2024 this is all weather dependent and the closure may be extended if required. 
Planned works: FFMVic will be working with contractors to stabilise 2 landslips, during this operation the road will be closed. 
Grey River Picnic Area is also closed

Partial Park Closures at night

Sections of the Great Otway National Park will be closed from dusk to dawn for invasive species control from Sunday 3rd March to Friday 15th March 2024.  Areas that may be affected by rolling park closures include Kawarren block, Carlisle Heath, Kennedy's Creek and Wonga block.  Non- Parks Victoria roads will remain open to through traffic and no day visitor areas or campgrounds will be impacted by park closures. 

Partial Park Closures at night

Sections of the Great Otway National Park will be closed between dusk and dawn from Sunday 3/3/24 to Friday 15/3/24 allow for the safe delivery of an invasive species control operation.  The areas of the park that may be impacted by rolling park closures are the Carlisle Heath, Wonga Black, Kawarren block and Kennedy's Creek block.  All non-Parks Victoria managed roads will remain open.  This program will not impact on day visitor areas or campgrounds.

Curtis Track is closed due to unsafe conditions.

Please take your rubbish home

Reminder to campers and visitors to please take your rubbish home. Please do not put rubbish in toilets. Visitors have been placing rubbish in the pit toilets making human waste removal difficult. Parks appreciates your assistance in looking after the Park.

Maits Rest Carpark- bus access

Maits Rest Carpark is suitable for small coaster buses only. Large buses or coaches are advised to use Melba Gully walk track near Lavers Hill.

Melba Gully Walk Track and picnic area is accessible for large coaches. Toilet facilities are available on site
