How to book camping online
The steps below and our simple video tutorial will make it easy to book your next camping getaway using the online Parks Victoria booking system.
When you're ready to book, ensure you have the following handy:
- The name of your preferred campground, dates, and site – and a plan B and C in case they are already booked out
- Personal details including name, address, phone number and email address
- Your credit card details, a valid Visa or Mastercard, for payment. Note, payment will not be required for bookings between 1 December 2024 and 30 June 2025.
- Your vehicle registration number
1. Navigate to the bookings page of the Parks Victoria website
To get started, click on 'Where to stay' in the top navigation bar, then click ‘Book your stay’.
You can also get there directly at bookings.parks.vic.gov.au/book.
2. Enter your booking information
If you know your dates, you can enter them and the number of guests for your planned trip on the top left-hand side of the screen to see all available sites.
You can enter the name of the campground if you have a specific one in mind e.g. Blanket Bay and press enter.
You can also click on the filters button to narrow down your search according to:
- What you are staying in – a tent, caravan, accommodation, etc.
- How you access the location – 2WD or 4WD
- Features the location offers – such as toilets, campfires, or whether dogs are permitted
3. View available campgrounds
Once you have made your filter selections, click 'show results' to see available campgrounds.
4. Select your location and campsite
Select your location, by browsing the list provided, or using the searchable map.
Click the blue ‘Book From’ button to view your chosen location.
You can browse the list of individual campsites at your chosen location. If there is no availability (grey ‘Unavailable’ button), try changing your dates or location.
Click on the ‘Reserve’ button on the campsite you would like to book.
Note: at some campgrounds, known as camping areas, you can’t book or reserve individual sites in advance – they are selected upon arrival.
Click on ‘Reserve’ to continue your booking and double-check your booking on the pop-up.
5. Sign in or complete your details
If you’ve booked with Parks Victoria before, click ‘Sign in’ and follow the instructions.
If not, click ‘Skip and continue’.
Enter your vehicle details and other information requested. You must enter your vehicle details as this validates your booking for our patrolling campground rangers.
After you’ve entered all details requested, click ‘Buy Now’.
Alternatively, you can select ‘Add Item to Cart’ if you would like to book up to three campgrounds in the same transaction. Sites are held in your cart for 15 minutes.
6. Finalise your booking
Enter your personal and payment details, read the terms and conditions and click ‘Finalise my booking’.
You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of booking. Please also check your spam/junk folder if not received.
Your confirmation email contains a link to ‘manage my booking’ where you can make any changes to your booking.
