  • Bourkes Bridge Streamside Reserve

    Reserve closed to public access due to wildfire

    Reserve is closed due to being impacted by wildfire that started on Saturday 16th November 2024.  Reopening of the reserve will be assessed when the fire status is declared safe.

  • Croajingolong National Park

    Tracks and areas closed in the Croajingolong National Park

    The following six areas are closed because of the 2019/2020 bushfires and coastal erosion caused by ongoing heavy rainfall.  Visitors are unable to access the Point Hicks Lighthouse, Thurra River Campground, and nearby walking tracks. Parks Victoria continue to maintain surveillance and security of these areas. Please continue to monitor this site for updates and change of conditions.

    The Wilderness Coast Walk is open all the way from Bemm River to Mallacoota. Staff have recently marked sections of the track however, combined flood and fire damage have made some areas more difficult to negotiate. Hikers must be able to self-navigate with a map and compass.

  • Ganoo Ganoo Bushland Reserve

    Reserve closed to public access due to wildfire

  • Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park

    Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park - Roads Update 17.01.2025

    The Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park has many roads temporarily closed due to recent bushfires. Please be aware the movement of visitors in parts of the national park is restricted.

    Mitchell Rd between Redman Rd and Mt William Picnic Ground Rd.

    Temporary Road & Seasonal Road Closures
    These are mostly due to recent bushfires and is a long list. Please refer to the attached up-to-date road report below.

    Seasonal Roads
    Seasonal Roads reopened on Thursday 31st October 2024.

    The following seasonal roads require further management and remain closed:
    ·      Moora Track
    ·      Launders Track
    ·      Mt Cassell Fireline

    Seasonal road closures are necessary to maintain water quality, protect public safety and prevent erosion during the wetter months, making them vulnerable to damage.

    Rock climbing closures due to Grampians-Yarram Gap Bushfire

    Due to recent bushfires in the area and ongoing efforts to suppress them, designated rock climbing sites 63-91 in the Wonderland and Serra Range are temporarily closed to climbers and visitors.

    Parts of Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park have now reopened following the containment of the Yarram Gap Bushfire. 
     
    Some sections of the park will remain closed for the time being while fire suppression works are ongoing.

    Outbreak of fire near Boroka in the Northern Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park

    A fire has been reported on Boroka Track on Monday 20 January west of Halls Gap.

    There is an active fire response underway.

    Check with VicTraffic website traffic.transport.vic.gov.au for road closures.

    Check the Vic Emergency website emergency.vic.gov.au or Vic Emergency App for the latest warnings and advice.

  • Great Otway National Park

    Colac Tree Road Open, Skinners Track Closed

    Colac Tree Road within the Great Otway National Park will re-open at 5pm on Monday 2nd December with a 40kph restriction.

    Skinners Creek Track, within the Great Otway National Park, will remain closed until further notice. 

    These restrictions will be in place due to fire impacting the area. 

  • Kadnook I31 Bushland Reserve

    Reserve closed to public access due to wildfire

    Reserve is closed due to being impacted by wildfire that started on Saturday 16th November 2024.  Reopening of the reserve will be assessed when the fire status is declared safe.

  • Mount Buangor State Park

    Full park closure - Fire recovery Mount Buangor

    Following a Bushfire in February 2024, the Mount Buangor State Park is currently closed to allow for stabilisation, recovery and rebuilding of visitor infrastructure. This includes Middle Creek, Ferntree and Bailes Camping Areas, all walking tracks and roads.

    Other Parks in the wider area available for camping and walking include:

    Mount Beckworth Scenic Reserve - West of Clunes 
    Kara Kara National Park - North of Avoca
    Enfield State Park - South of Ballarat 
    Creswick Regional Park - Creswick

    All of Mount Buangor State Park is closed through set aside under National Parks Regulations 2024 20(1)(A). The purpose of this set aside is to restrict access and close Mount Buangor State Park to the public for the purposes of preserving, protecting and managing the park while the park recovery management occurs. Fines apply for entering the closed area.

  • The Gurdies Nature Conservation Reserve

    The Gurdies Nature Conservation Reserve - Partial Reserve Opening

    • Parks visitors are advised that the non fire effected section of the reserve south of Old Quarry track is now open to the public.
    • Park visitors are advised not to enter the fire effected areas adjacent to the Bass Highway and Gurdies - St Helier Road
