Seasonal road closures
Many roads and tracks are seasonally closed to vehicle traffic each year. These tracks are closed to vehicles for visitor safety, to maintain water quality and prevent erosion during the wetter months as rain and snow softens the tracks, making them vulnerable to damage.
Seasonal road closures generally operate from after the long weekend in June through to the end of October, but may be extended due to seasonal conditions.
The majority of seasonal road closures for 2022 begin on 16 June.
Remember to check individual park pages and the changed conditions and closures page on this website before you go for other changes to conditions.
The seasonal closures described here include closures of roads managed by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) in areas adjacent to parks and reserves managed by Parks Victoria.
