Peak season camping bookings for 2022-23 open 6 September

Monday 5 September, 2022

Parks Victoria is making it simpler, easier and cheaper to get into nature for an overnight adventure thanks to the Victoria’s Great Outdoors. Victoria’s Great Outdoors is a $106.6 million investment by the Victorian Government into better parks, campgrounds, tracks, trails and outdoor facilities.

As part of the program, Parks Victoria has halved campsite fees at every bookable campground across Victoria. Lower fees have certainly made for a lot of happy campers. There were more than 55,000 camping bookings made last summer – a 15,000 increase from the summer before the program began.

This summer, campers have even more reason to get out into nature, thanks to a $1.56 million investment in Parks Victoria’s improved camping booking system. It’s now easier than ever to find the perfect spot to stay in one of Victoria’s 131 bookable campgrounds and roofed accommodation options.

Picture shows a large family group of five people camping outdoors with two tents, a large one and a small one, with the adults of the group gathered around a fireplace with fire.

Campers will find improved functionality, instant confirmation and advanced filtering to help them choose from fully serviced sites with luxury tents right through to remote campsites with nothing but the serenity of the bush, as well as everything in between.

This is another win for Victoria’s Great Outdoors, which is also funding the construction of new and upgraded campgrounds across the state, as well as improvements to iconic 4WD routes from the Alps to the Mallee and upgrades to walking tracks from the Otways to Central Victoria.
