Tidal River Visitor Centre reopens at Wilsons Prom
Monday 17 August, 2026
The Tidal River Visitor Centre has officially reopened at Wilsons Promontory National Park, providing visitors with better access to information and upgraded facilities.
Wilsons Promontory National Park is one of Victoria's most loved parks, with more than 600,000 visitors coming each year to connect with nature, camp, hike and enjoy being outdoors.
The new visitor centre has been extended, and includes a new façade, digital information kiosks, interior upgrades, picnic tables, landscaping, improved paths, and accessible toilets with changing facilities in the restrooms.
These upgrades will help visitors connect with the park and make the most of their time exploring one of Victoria's most iconic national parks.

As the gateway to Wilsons Promontory, the Tidal River Visitor Centre provides information on walks, camping, accommodation, wildlife experiences and things to see and do throughout the park.
Located alongside Tidal River's accommodation and visitor facilities, the centre plays an important role in helping visitors discover everything the Prom has to offer.
The reopening of the Visitor Centre marks an important milestone in the $23 million Wilsons Promontory Revitalisation project, which includes a series of visitor improvements delivered across the park, including the Prom Wildlife Walk, upgrades to the Wilderness Retreat accommodation and ongoing projects that support both visitor experiences and conservation outcomes across the park.
Visitors can drop into the Tidal River Visitor Centre during their next visit to Wilsons Promontory to discover walking opportunities, learn about the park's unique natural values and get the latest information to help plan a memorable Prom adventure.
