Volunteer

Volunteering in parks is a great way to contribute to conserving Victoria’s special places. The many personal benefits of volunteering include learning more about plants and wildlife, gaining new skills, being in the outdoors, improving health and well being and meeting new friends. Time spent in nature also reduces stress and promotes physical wellbeing.

    Temporary Vehicle Entrance Gate Closures

Parks Victoria staff members currently participating in Protected Industrial Action as part of Enterprise Agreement negotiations are exercising their protected right not to re-open closed gates.

As a result, the vehicle entrance gates at Maroondah Reservoir Park, Upper Yarra Reservoir Park and Badger Weir Picnic Area & Donnelly Weir Picnic Area (within Yarra Ranges National Park) will remain closed from midnight on Thursday 27 August 2026, until further notice.

Pedestrian access remains available. Visitors are asked to be considerate when parking outside the closed gates by parking only in designated and permitted areas, not obstructing traffic flow and not blocking private driveways or property access.
