Volunteer

Volunteering in parks is a great way to contribute to conserving Victoria’s special places. The many personal benefits of volunteering include learning more about plants and wildlife, gaining new skills, being in the outdoors, improving health and well being and meeting new friends. Time spent in nature also reduces stress and promotes physical wellbeing.

Change of Conditions

Nature being nature, sometimes conditions can change at short notice. It’s a good idea to check this page ahead of your visit for any updates.

  • Portsea Pier (Portsea Pier, Local Port of Port Phillip)

Inner Lower Landing of the Portsea Pier Closure

Repair works to the damaged fendering at the inner lower landing of Portsea Pier are required to ensure vessels can continue to safely use the landing.

The Inner Low Landing will need to be temporarily closed during these works from 20 – 23 May (subject to weather conditions).

To allow machinery access, the main pier will also be closed for up to 1 hour on two occasions: once prior to works starting and once upon completion. This will be managed on-site to minimise disruption.

The main pier will remain open for the remainder of the works period and vessels can still use the Outer Low Landing during this time.
