Volunteer

Volunteering in parks is a great way to contribute to conserving Victoria’s special places. The many personal benefits of volunteering include learning more about plants and wildlife, gaining new skills, being in the outdoors, improving health and well being and meeting new friends. Time spent in nature also reduces stress and promotes physical wellbeing.

Maintenance works to reopen Turpins Falls Scenic Reserve Lookout.

Turpins Falls Scenic Reserve was closed for safety reasons. A High-Risk Asset inspection was undertaken, which confirmed the track and fencing were in poor condition due to age, and rust, and did not meet current standards.

Current Stage 1 works include installation of new walkway and steps, installation of new Australian Standard compliant fencing, track repairs, and carpark upgrades. The essential works to upgrade Turpins Falls will reopen the scenic outlook to the community.

Works are expected to be completed by January 2026.

Investigations are currently underway for Stage 2 works, which will open the site from the lookout down to the base of the waterfall.
