Anderson Mill Walk (Fingerpost Regional Park , WOMBAT STATE FOREST)
The 5.6 km return walk takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and is a Grade 4 track with gentle hills, occasional steps and some uneven sections. Following formed tracks through mixed forest, the route leads to the former Anderson Mill site, where timber from the surrounding forest was milled and transported by horse-drawn tramways in the late 1800s. Remnants of the sawmill era, including a large sawdust heap, can still be seen along the walk. Some bushwalking experience is recommended.
Firth Park Campground provides toilets, picnic tables, fireplaces and a shelter at the trailhead. Dogs are permitted on lead and must be kept under effective control. Drinking water is not available, so carry all the water you need for your walk. There are no rubbish bins, so please take all rubbish home. Campfires are only allowed in designated fireplaces and when restrictions are not in place.
Anderson Mill Walk is in the Central Fire District. Bushfire safety is a personal responsibility. For up to date information on bushfires in Victoria call the VicEmergency Hotline on 1800 226 226, download the VicEmergency app, visit www.emergency.vic.gov.au or tune into a local radio station.
