Wallpolla Island Closed

2022/23 Flood Damage

Wallpolla Islands is closed due to riverine flood damage from the 2022/23 event. Impacts affecting both access and visitor safety are still present and are being worked on as part of recovery efforts. Timeframes for re-opening to the public are still unknown at this time.

Closure – Conservation Program

Due to a conservation program part of the Murray Sunset National Park, including Pheenys Track, Rocket Lake and Mopoke campgrounds will be closed from Tuesday 22 October and will reopen on Friday 25 October 2024. Closure signs will be in place on all main entry points into the closed sections of the park. Please see map for further information.

Pest Animal Control Program - Southern Murray Sunset N.P

A pest animal control program will be conducted in Southern Murray Sunset National Park from Friday 11 October to Sunday 13 October 2024. Impacted areas include the Pink Lakes, including Lake Crosbie, Lake Becking, Mt Crozier and Mopoke campgrounds.

The Park will remain open while this program is being conducted.
