Blue Wren Picnic Area (Greenvale Reservoir Park)

Blue Wren Picnic Area is located in the south west corner of Greenvale Reservoir, and can be accessed via the combined entrance and exit gate off Somerton Rd. The grassy slopes of the park are popular with large groups for picnics and games, and a walk through the park will offer glimpses of the native birdlife and views of the water. Dogs can be walked on-lead throughout the park
A picnic shelter with electric or gas bbqs, and picnic table and seats are available for use. Areas designated for coal bbqs are provided in the adjacent Cypress Picnic Area, where there is also a water point available to cool down the hot coals and a coal bin is provided for disposal. Coal bbqs are not permitted on days of Total Fire Ban.
Toilet facilities with uni-sex cubicles, an all-abilities accessible toilet, and baby change facilities are located with the picnic area.
A drinking fountain is located adjacent to the toilet block.
No rubbish bins are available, so please take all rubbish home with you.
Vehicle entry is restricted to 8am – 4.30pm during non-daylight savings hours, and 8am – 8.30pm during day-light savings hours. Car parking is available along Greenvale Park Drive, south of the toilet block. When departing the park, please take care if turning right into Somerton Rd, as the 80km per hr speed limit, single lane and obstructed view requires caution.
Greenvale Reservoir is in the Central fire district. Bush and grass fire safety is a personal responsibility. For up to date information on fires in Victoria call the VicEmergency Hotline on 1800 226 226, download the VicEmergency app, or visit www.emergency.vic.gov.au.
The park will be closed on Catastrophic fire days.
