Barmah National park Access Update

Most Primary Access Tracks are now OPEN within Barmah National Park and the adjoining Proposed Murray River Park.
 
The following tracks are OPEN within Barmah National Park highlighted in Green on the attached map, although recommended 4WD only.
Sand ridge track providing access to the Dharnya centre and Lakes campground and day visitor area. Sand Ridge track is now open all the way north to River Rd.

Gulf track
Newmans track
Tongalong track
Manions track
Suttons track
Ulupna Island -All.
The Ranch down stream of barmah.
 
Some internal tracks remain closed due to flood or storm damage. Conditions are subject to change at any time without notice.

River flows from Yarrawonga weir remain at 8,500 megalitres. We will review access on a weekly basis and open the closed areas as soon as possible. Please take care on all tracks due to the wet conditions and if you can avoid using wet tracks, please do so for your safety and to prevent track damage.”

Wallpolla Island Closed

2022/23 Flood Damage

Wallpolla Islands is closed due to riverine flood damage from the 2022/23 event. Impacts affecting both access and visitor safety are still present and are being worked on as part of recovery efforts. Timeframes for re-opening to the public are still unknown at this time.

Murray River Adventure Trail

Stage One of the Murray River Adventure Trail proposes new canoe and kayak launches, pedestrian links and new facilities at key visitor sites from Barmah National Park to Koondrook. Stage One will pass through Echuca, Murray River Reserve, Gunbower National Park and Lower Goulburn National Park. Find out more about the project.

Murray River Reserve Young bend Closure

Young Bend Murray River Reserve is temporary closed for camping due to maintenance works. 
Pedestrian access is still open. 

This area will open in the new year. 
Do not drive past road closures.
