Goanna Bay is the perfect picnic or barbecue stop on your Mallacoota Inlet adventure. Set in the shade of tall, twisted Angophora and Pittosporum trees, take a dip off its sandy beach and listen out for the virtuoso singing of the resident Superb Lyrebird and spot Lace Monitors basking in the sun.

Thurra Campground

The Thurra campground is currently closed pending replacement of the Thurra River bridge and safety works in the campground.  Reopening is taking longer than expected due to the scale and complexity of works.  Thurra campground may be reopened for summer 2023-2024, however please continue to monitor this site for updates and change of conditions.

Genoa Peak Rd Vegetation Management Works

Genoa Peak road will be closed for vegetation management works from 7.00am to 5.00pm each day between Saturday 27 November and Friday 5 December including the weekend. There will be no access to Genoa Peak during this time.

Contractors will be onsite with machinery.

Areas of Croajingolong National Park Closed Due to Widespread Bushfire Damage

Cape Horn Day Visitor Area (including jetty) is currently closed while the sea wall is renewed. It is expected to be re-opened prior to Christmas 2021.

Due to widespread bushfire damage, the following areas of Croajingolong National Park remain closed:

Mallacoota Inlet Day Visitor Areas:
·       Gravelly Point, Including Jetty (under construction) and Toilet
·       Kingfisher Point, Including Jetty
Mallacoota Inlet Facilties:
·       Sandy Point Toilet
·       South West Arm Toilet
·       Genoa River Toilet and Jetty (under construction)

Other affected Sites and Facilties - Croajingolong:

·       Wilderness Coast Walk (between Shipwreck Creek and Bemm River)
·       Mueller Inlet Campground
·       Thurra River Campground
·       Point Hicks Road (Section South-East of Fishermans Track)
·       Cicada Trail
·       Swan Lake Track
·       Wingan Inlet Rapids Walk
·       Mt Everard Walk
·       Gale Hill Track
