Grand Duke Arch (Timor Historic & Cultural Features Res.)

Explore Victoria’s golden heart. A pleasant little reserve in the heart of the township of Timor, this is a great spot to stop in for lunch. Ample parking provided. The now relaxed reserve was once a bustle of industry. The mine was the economic centre of this area, employing hundreds of men over its 27 years. A once busy mine, only the arch now remains, standing testament to the industry of the site. The other facilities in on the reserve is a picnic table and interpretive signage. .

The area is prone to Bushfires in warmer months. Bushfire safety is a personal responsibility. For up to date information on bushfires in Victoria call the VicEmergency Hotline on 1800 226 226, download the VicEmergency app, visit www.emergency.vic.gov.au or tune into a local radio station. Check the forecast fire danger before leaving home. Consider not visiting forest or bushland on stormy days or days of high bushfire risk.
