Assistance dogs are welcome in Parks Victoria parks and reserves. Entry requirements apply for parks and reserves that are usually dog prohibited, such as national parks.

Change of Conditions

Nature being nature, sometimes conditions can change at short notice. It’s a good idea to check this page ahead of your visit for any updates.

Temporary access closure for invasive species control program (6pm to 5am)

Parks Victoria will be conducting an invasive species control program from early evening to early morning from Monday 9 to Friday 13 March across Langi Ghiran and Mount Buangor State Parks. To ensure visitor and contractor safety, temporary track closures will be in place throughout the program during the hours of 6pm - 5am. These closures will be indicated by on-site signage.

Mount Buangor State Park - Many areas in the park are still closed due to fire impacts. The Ferntree Waterfall day visitor site and road to this site will occasionally close throughout the week from 6pm - 5am and open during the day for visitors to enjoy.

Langi Ghiran State Park - For visitor safety, the campground will be closed from 3pm Thursday 12 March - 9am Friday 13 March. The area will be open during the day (up until 3pm) for picnicking and days visits.
