MacKenzies Flat Picnic Area (Lerderderg State Park, Lerderderg River Heritage River)

Located at the south end of the park, a short drive from the Bacchus Marsh township, and accessed from Lerderderg Gorge Rd, MacKenzie Flat is the perfect spot for a picnic with the family or friends. Set among native bushland, there is everything you need for a fantastic day out in nature, including picnic tables, toilet, and information shelter. Follow the gentle riverside trail through the native bushland to Grahams Dam, where you can take in the full splendour of the Lerderderg Gorge.

The picnic area is the trailhead for numerous short walks to long multiday hikes. The trails beyond Grahams Dam are for experienced and well-prepared hikers. You should understand the difficulty of these walks prior to attempting them and advise family or friend of your intention to do the walks.
Take a map, adequate water and clothing for all conditions.

Prospecting, fossicking, and digging is prohibited. Penalties apply.
Rubbish bins are not provided so please take all rubbish home with you.
Fires are not permitted.
